Biography

Katie Martin is a litigation attorney practicing in the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office.  Her practice includes all aspects of civil litigation in both state and federal court.

Katie received her undergraduate degree from Mercer University in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in public policy.  During her time at Mercer, she served as captain of the women’s lacrosse team.  While attending the University of South Carolina School of Law, Katie served as an articles editor for the ABA Real Property, Trust and Estate law journal and participated in the Veterans Legal Clinic.  As a student attorney, she assisted veterans with review of their benefits and represented clients through appeals before the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.  Katie also clerked for prominent litigation firms on the plaintiff’s and defense side, including GWB.

Katie recognizes the standard of excellence that GWB fosters.  Given her experiences, Katie appreciates the importance of working collaboratively and diligently to exceed all client expectations.  When she isn’t practicing law, she enjoys cheering on the Mercer Bears and Carolina Gamecocks, and spending time with her dog, Lenny.
