David A. Batista

Biography

David A. Batista is a litigation attorney practicing in Gallivan White and Boyd’s Charlotte, North Carolina office.  His practice encompasses a wide range of civil litigation matters at both the state and federal level.

David earned his undergraduate degree from Cornell University, College of Arts and Sciences in Ithaca, New York.  He went on to complete his Juris Doctorate at Seton Hall University School of Law in Newark, New Jersey, with a focus on Law & Technology and Intellectual Property.

Before joining Gallivan White and Boyd, David honed his legal acumen through clerkships at private law firms and private industry roles in the technology sector.  He also served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable Gary N. Wilcox, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Criminal Division.

David’s recent legal work includes representing clients in complex business litigation, residential and commercial real estate transactions  landlord/tenant proceedings, real property disputes.  He especially enjoyed the client-facing experience of managing a matter from contract to close.  Additionally, he recently argued and won a motion to dismiss in federal court.  He is also deeply committed to veteran causes and is accredited by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to represent disability claimants before the V.A.

When it comes to client service, David abides by a philosophy of active listening.  He believes that truly understanding a client’s concerns is the first step toward crafting creative and effective solutions for any problems that may arise throughout the course of litigation.
