Biography

Shivani Shah is a litigation attorney practicing in the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office.  Her practice includes many aspects of civil litigation at both the state and federal level.

Shivani received her undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earned her juris doctor from the University of Baltimore School of Law.  Prior to joining GWB, Shivani worked with workers compensation cases in a private firm and completed a clerkship under the Honorable Judge Angela Eaves of the Harford County Circuit Court in Bel Air, Maryland.

In law school, Shivani served as a Rule 19 Student Attorney for the Civil Advocacy Clinic: Human Trafficking Prevention Project in which she represented low-income survivors of human trafficking in a range of post-conviction proceedings. She also honed her research skills while serving as a research assistant for Prof. Nienke Grossman, delving into a variety of legal issues related to international law and women in the law for purposes of drafting articles, lectures, and encyclopedia entries.

Raised by hard-working parents, Shivani grew up loving to learn and has an appreciation for rules and structure.  She appreciates a collaborative team approach to find the best solution for each client. Her strengths in analysis and critical thinking contribute to a solution-oriented approach to finding practical and innovative paths to reach client goals.
