Garrett W. Farrel

Biography

Garrett Farrel is an associate attorney in the Greenville, South Carolina office, where he focuses primarily on tort and personal injury litigation.  Before joining GWB, he gained significant trial and case investigation experience through multiple roles in Texas, including serving as Chief Misdemeanor Prosecutor with the Rockwall Criminal District Attorney’s Office. In that position, he supervised attorneys, represented the State of Texas in trial and motions practice, and worked closely with victims in family violence cases.

Garrett’s dedication to public service and trial practice was shaped through internships with the U.S. Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Manske and several District Attorney’s Offices, where he contributed to legal research, motions drafting, and case preparation. He also served as an investigative intern for the Federal Public Defender’s Office in Sacramento, supporting attorneys on complex federal criminal matters.

While earning his J.D. at Baylor Law School, Garrett participated in a range of pro bono legal clinics, including the Juvenile Justice Clinic, Criminal Pro Se Clinic, and Veterans Legal Clinic. Through these programs, he gained hands-on courtroom and client-facing experience—representing individuals at arraignments and dockets under a supervised practice card and assisting veterans with legal matters. In addition to his legal training, Garrett remains committed to youth mentorship and community involvement, including coaching baseball for underprivileged youth.

In his free time, Garrett likes to hike with his wife and dog, golf, and watch baseball.
