Charles S. Verdin IV Appointed Chairman of South Carolina’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization

Gallivan White Boyd (GWB) is proud to announce that partner Charles S. “Chuck” Verdin IV has been appointed Chairman of South Carolina’s Commission on Continuing Legal Education and Specialization.

Chuck is a partner in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina office. His practice focuses on estate planning and probate, tax, and corporate law. In addition to his law degree, he is a Certified Public Accountant and a South Carolina Supreme Court designated Certified Specialist in both Taxation Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law. He has significant experience in estate planning and planned-giving, complex trust and probate administration, corporate formation and structuring, mergers and acquisitions, and federal, state and local tax planning and controversies.

Appointment as Chair of the Commission is a distinction conferred by the South Carolina Supreme Court, reflecting a deep commitment to the advancement of the legal profession. Eligible candidates must first be appointed to the 12-member Commission, a role reserved for attorneys and judges who demonstrate exceptional leadership, deep knowledge of continuing legal education and specialization standards, and a sustained record of service to the Bar. From this group, the Supreme Court selects a chair, an attorney whose professional reputation, regulatory insight and contributions to the legal community distinguish them among their peers.
