Biography
Liam O’Brien is an associate in the firm’s Charleston, SC office, where he focuses his practice on business and commercial litigation.
Prior to entering private practice, Liam served as a law clerk to the Honorable H. Bruce Williams at the South Carolina Court of Appeals and later as a staff attorney for the court. In these roles, he gained substantial experience analyzing complex legal issues and drafting memoranda, opinions, and orders. His work involved legal research and case review spanning civil, administrative, and family law matters.
Liam also served as a law clerk with a private law firm and the 11th Circuit Public Defender’s Office, and as a legal extern with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC). Through these roles, he developed practical skills in trial preparation, discovery, and regulatory analysis, experience that informs his current work in commercial disputes, contract matters, and business-related litigation.
Outside of the office, he enjoys running road races, cooking, attending South Carolina Gamecock sporting events, and reading about the Age of Exploration.
