R. Cuyler Haskins is an associate in the firm’s Charlotte, NC office.
In private practice, Cuyler has litigated a broad spectrum of complex commercial disputes over contracts, business torts, and business divorce. He has trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts, including a multi-week federal jury trial over trade secrets. Cuyler routinely handles motions practice and has assisted in depositions of a diverse range of business leaders, ranging from coal industry executives in post-acquisition disputes to business owners in an officer indemnification case. Prior to private practice and while attending law school at Vanderbilt University, Cuyler gained valuable legal experience through clerkships in both the public and private sectors including with a U.S. Magistrate Judge, a legal aid clinic, and a healthcare technology company. His post-law school experience further sharpened his understanding of how law shapes policy and business, through roles with the Senate Judiciary Committee in the Tennessee General Assembly and a global financial firm’s regulatory team.
In his personal time, Cuyler enjoys riding his motorcycle, pretending he can still run another marathon, and enjoying live music.
