General Counsel Pic - MedCorporate Counsel Concierge is an innovative approach GWB uses to provide legal services to clients who prefer to focus their time on running and growing their businesses rather than being distracted by legal issues. Under this approach, GWB provides a client with a point of contact to manage and navigate the client’s legal matters. The firm finds this approach particularly beneficial for emerging businesses with meaningful legal matters but without an in-house legal department.  At the same time, clients with in-house counsel would benefit from this approach. Corporate Counsel Concierge provides in-house counsel departments additional on-demand capacity, allowing in-house counsel to focus on other projects.  Additionally, Corporate Counsel Concierge can be extremely useful to in-house counsel when matters arise involving a niche area of the law or extends to parts of the country where more specific and localized experience is appropriate.

GWB typically assigns a primary attorney or, depending on the circumstances, a team of attorneys, who will help manage legal issues within the organization.  GWB finds the relationship works best when the primary attorney makes regular, on-site visits to the client, even working a certain number of days per month at the client’s location.  This arrangement increases the client’s access as issues arise and allows the client’s employees to become more familiar with the legal team, freeing up the client’s key decision-makers to focus on the business without having to be a gate-keeper for every legal issue.  A tremendous benefit to this relationship also comes from the very specific knowledge it gives GWB about the client’s business and how it operates, which is often a challenge when bringing new counsel “up to speed” about the internal workings and business goals of a client.
