GREENVILLE, S.C. - July 26, 2011 - Gallivan, White & Boyd, P.A., is pleased to announce that C. Stuart Mauney has been elected as Chair of the Board of Directors for the Upstate Mediation Center. Mauney will be chair for the 2011-2012 term.

The Upstate Mediation Center is a non-profit organization that offers a voluntary alternative to the adversarial court process by resolving disputes through use of mediation. The organization promotes the use of mediation and other non-adversarial means of resolving conflicts and nurtures peace by restoring and strengthening family, business and community relationships.

Mauney heads GWB's Alternative Dispute Resolution Team and has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for Alternative Dispute Resolution. He is a member of the American Bar Association Section of Dispute Resolution and the Defense Research Institute, and is a state chair for the Council on Litigation Management.

GWB's ADR team provides mediation and arbitration services to parties involved in disputes as an alternative to litigation and trial. Members of the team provide these services to parties who participate on a voluntary basis or through the South Carolina court-ordered ADR program.
