Greenville, S.C. - Gallivan, White and Boyd, P.A., headquartered in Greenville, S.C., is pleased to announce that it has opened an office in Charlotte and that J. Jared Simms has joined the firm as an associate.  Prior to joining Gallivan, White & Boyd, Simms was an associate in the Charlotte office of Cranfill Sumner & Hartzog, LLP.  For the last four years, his practice has been devoted exclusively to defending employers and insurance carriers in workers' compensation matters throughout North Carolina.  He will continue his practice with Gallivan, White & Boyd's workers' compensation team, which focuses exclusively on the defense of employers, insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, third party administrators, and claims servicing agencies. 

"I am excited to join the team at Gallivan, White & Boyd," said Simms.  "The firm has tremendous leadership and experience in a wide variety of practice areas, including workers' compensation defense.  I look forward to working with the lawyers in my new firm to expand our practice throughout North Carolina."  Simms graduated from Queens University of Charlotte, summa cum laude, in 2003 and obtained his J.D. from the University of North Carolina in 2006.  He is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association, North Carolina Association of Defense Attorneys, and the American Bar Association.
