Background
Laura Figueroa is a native of Seneca, South Carolina. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Duke University in 2005. While at Duke, Figueroa was Captain and President of the Duke Women’s Club Basketball Team. Figueroa believes that the dedication, competitive spirit and leadership skills that she acquired through her involvement in Duke athletics will also serve her well in her practice of law. She received her JD from the USC School of Law in 2008. She graduated cum laude and was admitted to the Order of the Wig and Robe. Figueroa also received the CALI Award in Construction Law and Litigation and was a member of the Southeastern Environmental Law Journal. Figueroa currently practices in the area of Railroad Litigation. In her time away from work Figueroa enjoys long distance running and she remains an avid Duke fan.
