John T. Lay, Jr. Named President-Elect of the International Association of Defense Counsel
GWB shareholder John T. Lay, Jr. has been named president-elect of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC). The IADC is the preeminent invitation only legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests throughout the world. Lay has long been an active member of the IADC. Prior to his selection as president-elect, Lay served as a member of the Board of Directors, Chair of the Business Litigation Committee, and a member of Product Liability and Trial Tactics Committees. Lay will serve as president-elect from July 2015 until he is named president in July 2016.
Lay’s law practice focuses on business litigation, professional malpractice, insurance bad faith and coverage, financial services litigation, product liability, and environmental law. He has over 20 years of experience managing complex high-stakes litigation trying more than 100 cases to verdict. This included matters presented before the United States District Court of South Carolina, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court.
