JENNIFER JOHNSEN ELECTED TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE FEDERATION OF DEFENSE & CORPORATE COUNSEL

Gallivan White Boyd (GWB) is pleased to announce that partner Jennifer Johnsen has been elected to the Board of Directors of the Federation of Defense & Corporate Counsel (FDCC). The FDCC is an exclusive invitation–only international organization comprised of defense attorneys, corporate in-house counsel and insurance industry executives who have achieved professional distinction during their careers.  There are approximately 1400 members in the organization from the United States and around the world. Since joining the FDCC in 2007, she has served as Co-Chair of the Insurance Industry Committee, Program Co-Chair of the Insurance Industry Symposium and Chair of the Life, Health & Disability substantive law section.  In 2014 she was the recipient of the John Alan Appleman Award which honors the substantive law section chair who has made the most outstanding contribution to the advancement of the FDCC’s educational goals.  Johnsen currently serves as a Vice Chair of the Projects and Objectives Committee, is a Vice Chair of the Insurance Coverage Section and a member of the Admissions Committee. For the past 27 years, Johnsen has practiced law at GWB in the areas of insurance coverage litigation; life, health and disability benefits litigation; ERISA litigation; and business and commercial litigation. She serves as Chair of GWB’s Diversity Committee and is the Team Leader of GWB’s ERISA and Benefits Team.  She has been listed in Best Lawyers in America for commercial litigation, employee benefits (ERISA) law and insurance law, and also has been recognized as a “Legal Elite” in Greenville.  In 2003, she served as President of the Greenville County Bar Association. In the community, Johnsen serves on the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Greenville County and was Chair of the 2016 Campaign which raised more than $16.5 million. She also serves on the Executive Committee of the YMCA Metro Board of Directors
