Background
Jim Dedman recently joined GWB, having moved to Greenville in late 2006 from Beaumont, Texas, where he had practiced for a number of years. After obtaining a degree in film from the University of Texas at Austin, he graduated from Baylor University School of Law, where he authored "At Daggers Drawn: The Confederate Flag and the Public School Classroom-A Case Study of a Broken First Amendment Formula" in the Baylor Law Review. He is a member of the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and serves on the boards of the South Carolina Arts Foundation and the Greenville Lions Club. In 2009, he chaired the South Carolina Bar Young Lawyers Division Social Medica Task Force, which prepared a report to the Board of Governors recommending social media options for the bar.
