Background

New York native Frances Zacher grew up near Manhattan in a small community that offered the benefits of major-city access and a close-knit community. She came to GWB by way of Emory University School of Law in Atlanta, where she served as a Notes and Comments Editor of the Emory International Law Review. Her article, "Pass the Parmesan: Geographic Indications in the United States and the European Union-Can There Be Compromise?" appeared in the journal in 2005. Zacher graduated magna cum laude in 2001 from Washington and Lee University in Virginia.
