Design and Construction

GWB's Design and Construction Team represents a wide variety of clients who are involved in the construction process.  We offer a broad array of legal services to developers and owners of commercial and industrial properties, to general and trade contractors, and to design professionals. We have represented local, national and international architectural and engineering firms, contractors, subcontractors, design/builders, bonding companies and suppliers in construction matters.  Led by Ron Tate, the team has extensive experience in preparing and negotiating contracts and providing counseling to construction participants to assist them in evaluating and controlling financial risks before construction commences.

When disputes arise, the design and construction team has extensive experience in assisting clients with dispute resolution services, including negotiation, mediation, arbitration and litigation.  Our attorneys are experienced in handling claims on behalf of commercial and residential building owners, general contractors, trade contractors, material suppliers and design professionals in varied and complex matters, including claims for additional compensation due to changes, differing site conditions, disruptions and delays, and wrongful contract termination, as well as claims for construction defects and defective materials.  We also assist clients in protecting their financial interests through mechanic's liens and bond claims, and have represented financial institutions in construction-related lender liability matters.  Our attorneys have a demonstrated ability to achieve successful resolutions for our clients.
