Practice Areas

Background

Chris Kelly focuses his practice in transportation law and litigation (primarily defense of motor carriers and railroads), personal injury defense, including mass torts and class actions, and real estate litigation.  As a result of his experience with complex litigation and discovery he is also experienced in E-discovery.  Chris is admitted in both North Carolina and South Carolina and handles matters in both jurisdictions.  He is team leader of the GWB Trucking Litigation Team and manages lawyers who regularly handle and try to verdict catastrophic injury cases, transportation contract disputes and cargo and freight claims.  Chris regularly coordinates motor carrier and railroad accident investigations and emergency response to accident scenes and has tried many transportation cases to verdict in both state and federal court.  In addition to his transportation practice Chris is regularly involved in representing clients involved in real estate disputes, including title, easement and restrictive covenant disputes.  Chris is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association, the Trucking Industry Defense Association, the Conference of Freight Counsel, the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel and the Defense Research Institute.  Chris is also active in his community graduating from Leadership Greenville Class 30, serving on the boards of several community organizations and currently serving as the President of the Greenville Kiwanis Club.
