Practice Areas
Background
A member of the Business and Commercial Law Practice Group, Childs Cantey Thrasher has litigation experience in the South Carolina Administrative Law Court, SC Circuit Court and United States Supreme Court. Prior to joining GWB, Thrasher served as an Assistant Attorney General in both the civil and criminal divisions of the South Carolina Attorney General's Office, where she prosecuted criminal matters and represented the State in civil disputes such as the SC vs. NC Catawba River Water suit in the United States Supreme Court. An experienced speaker, Thrasher has been a Guest Lecturer at the University of South Carolina School of Law and USC Geology Department. She serves on boards of the South Carolina Arts Foundation and the South Carolina Conservation Voters Board of Trustees. Thrasher is a member of the South Carolina Bar, in which she is active in the Young Lawyers Division and the Environment and Natural Resources Section. Through the Young Lawyers Division, Thrasher has assisted the community by taking part in the Cinderella Project for a number of years. She is also active in the Washington and Lee Palmetto Alumni Leadership Committee and was on the Editorial Board of Advisors for the SC Bar's Third Edition of Environmental Law in South Carolina.
