"As a litigator and trial lawyer, I welcome the opportunity to work with clients to solve their problems--whether through trial or settlement. And then, once the problem has been solved, help them make sure it never happens again." - Stuart Mauney

Practice Areas

Background

Stuart Mauney focuses his practice on the defense of serious personal injury and wrongful death cases.  This includes assisting trucking companies with emergency response to accident scenes, and the subsequent litigation and trial of those matters.  He also defends professional liability and malpractice cases, including nursing homes and other healthcare facilities.  Stuart is the firm's Insurance Practice Group leader, managing a group of lawyers and staff who provide legal services to insurers, self-insured corporations and third-party risk managers, including complex litigation involving unique tort liability issues and insurance coverage matters.

Stuart recently completed a 3 year term (2007-2009) as a member of the Board of Regents for the Leadership Development program of the Greenville Chamber of Commerce.  He has served in a leadership capacity with mental health organizations and is Chair of the SC Bar HELP Task Force, educating lawyers and judges about substance abuse and mental health issues in the legal profession. Stuart is active with his alma mater, Furman University, and is an avid supporter of Furman football and basketball.
