Ryan Nichols is an associate who practices out of the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina office as a member of the workers’ compensation and business and commercial litigation teams.  In his workers’ compensation practice, Ryan represents employers, insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, third party administrators, and claims servicing agencies in the defense of workers’ compensation issues.  Ryan is an experienced workers’ compensation defense attorney that has successfully handled cases at both the Single Commissioner and Appellate Panel level.  Additionally, Ryan has a wealth of experience negotiating settlement on behalf of his client.  During the course of his career handling workers’ compensation claims, Ryan has handled various types of injuries that include but are not limited to the following:

  • Spinal Injuries
  • Repetitive Trauma

As a member of the business and commercial litigation team, Ryan also has experience representing large corporations, banks and lending institutions, business owners, and individuals in commercial disputes related to business torts, breach of contract claims, non-compete issues, trade secret violations, shareholder disputes, creditor’s rights claims, and other issues arising out of business transactions.

Prior to joining the firm as an associate in 2014, Ryan served as a law clerk with the firm over two summers and one full year while attending the University of South Carolina School of Law.  During law school, he served as the Student Works Editor for the South Carolina Law Review and also worked for two years as a criminal law tutor for first year law students.  Upon graduating from law school in the top 10% of his class, Ryan was inducted as a member of the University of South Carolina School of Law’s Chapter of The Order of the Coif.

Ryan has numerous legal skills; however, research, writing, analysis, and effective client communication are amongst his strongest. He is devoted to his clients and strives to exceed their expectations. Timely communication and attention to detail are Ryan’s top priorities when it comes to serving the needs of his clients.
