Greg Donaldson is a workers’ compensation defense attorney in the firm’s Greenville, South Carolina, office. He defends employers, insurance carriers, self-insured corporations, third party administrators, and claims servicing agencies in workers’ compensation matters. He handles all stages of job-related injury claims including:
- initial investigations
- advice regarding compensability
- risk/benefit analysis
- cost assessment and containment
- medical provider management
Prior to joining the firm, Greg was an intern with the Georgia Department of Banking and Finance. During his internship, Greg researched and drafted memorandums on topics including State-Chartered agency’s power to own real property, the affect to employees by changes to the Fair Labor Standards Act on overtime, virtual currency, and bank owned life insurance. Greg was also involved in drafting legislation related to trust companies’ safety and soundness requirements. Further, Greg was also involved in drafting and editing of contracts for the Department regarding software programming and confidentiality.
Greg also served as an intern with Voices for Georgia’s Children, a nonprofit child policy and advocacy organization. During his internship, Greg researched and wrote a white paper on the laws, rules, and Medicaid regulations concerning pediatric telehealth and developed recommendations for children advocates. He also lobbied the Georgia State Legislature advocating for children health.
