With a strong foundation in appellate law and commitment to thorough legal analysis, Ashley Stratton applies an unmatched work ethic to all phases of litigation in both state and federal courts. Ashley is Of Counsel in the firm’s Columbia office. As a member of GWB’s insurance and business and commercial litigation groups, Ashley enjoys crafting legal arguments and creative strategies in cases involving:

  • Business Litigation
  • Premises Liability
  • Professional Liability
  • Insurance Coverage
  • Nursing Home Litigation
  • Products Liability
  • Construction Litigation

A magna cum laude graduate of the University of South Carolina Honors College, Ashley taught elementary school before earning her law degree at Wake Forest University. Following law school, Ashley clerked at the South Carolina Supreme Court for the Honorable E.C. Burnett, III. Drawing on advanced appellate advocacy skills, she focused her initial practice on environmental law and workers’ compensation appeals. That experience naturally led to an insurance defense practice focused on excellent representation of clients and consistently detailed and thoughtful communication and collaboration with insurers, third-party risk managers, and corporations.

Arguing in the South Carolina Supreme Court and Court of Appeals have been career highlights for Ashley, but she considers her greatest accomplishment being a mother to three wonderful, energetic kids. Ashley doesn’t have much free time, but when she does, you can find her running and weight-lifting, cooking and baking, boating on Lake Murray, serving in her church, and cheering on the Gamecocks.
