Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)

The Alternative Dispute Resolution Team, headed by Stuart Mauney, provides mediation and arbitration services to parties involved in disputes as an alternative to litigation and trial. Members of the team provide these services to parties who participate on a voluntary basis or through the South Carolina court-ordered ADR program. Alternative Dispute Resolution Team members at our firm have received extensive training in their particular field of expertise and have been certified by the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Through Alternative Dispute Resolution, our goal is to assist disputing parties in reaching a mutually acceptable settlement. This structured mediation process is focused on effective communication and achieving a timely agreement. Members of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Team facilitate continued negotiations until a resolution is reached.

For 2010, GWB continued to be ranked as the #1 law firm in Greenville for Alternative Dispute Resolution by Best Lawyers in America. Two GWB attorneys were listed in Best Lawyers in America for ADR: C. Stuart Mauney and H. Mills Gallivan.  Both attorneys have also been recognized as South Carolina Super Lawyers.
